Team Canada forward Bo Horvat's Olympics fate likely confirmed after suffering injury last night

Not only did the New York Islanders suffer an embarrassing 7-2 defeat to the Utah Mammoth last night at UBS Arena, but they also lost forward Bo Horvat to injury.

He was hurt with a lower-body injury in the third period of the game when he collided with Utah defenseman Sean Durzi, and was seen having difficulty putting weight on his leg.

But it looks like the injury isn't considered serious and his spot on the Canadian roster for the 2026 Olympics doesn't appear to be in danger, per the latest report from NHL analyst Pierre LeBrun.

Horvat, who is the former captain of the Vancouver Canucks, has 33 points (21G, 12A) in 37 games played this year. He's missed five games already this year because of a separate lower-body injury, and only recently returned to the ice in a recent game against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

After weeks of anticipation, the roster for Canada in the upcoming 2026 Milan Olympics was released, and several of the usual names that most fans and analysts figured to see were included.

Names like Sidney Crosby, Connor McDavid, Nathan MacKinnon, and Cale Makar are all set to represent Canada, along with Horvat.

But there were more than a few players that have been snubbed that have the fans talking, including Sam Bennett, Connor Bedard, Seth Jarvis and Mark Scheifele.
