The Switzerland vs. Canada matchup has been a fun one at the 2026 Olympics, and after a missed call on Sam Bennett, all hell broke loose in Milan.

The 2026 Olympic Games have been off to a red-hot start for mens hockey, and on Friday, Team Canada face their second opponent in Switzerland following a 5-0 shutout in their opening matchup against Czechia.
While many believe Canada should dominate this matchup, it's been a very tight one thus far, and in the second period, things broke down in a big way after a missed call from the officials.

Sam Bennett high-stick causes chaos

While trying to lay a hit on Nico Hischier, Canadian forward Sam Bennett clearly hit the Devils star with a high-stick, but unfortunately, the officials decided to ignore the play.
Clearly, it wasn't a very popular move among the fans, especially the Swiss fans, as they made their protest known by throwing cups of beer onto the ice, letting the officials know that they'd clearly missed a call on the Panthers star forward.
Since that point, there's been plenty let go by the officials, with the two teams coming together on several occasions, and given how many physical players are on both sides, if the officials keep letting things go, chaos could continue.
Ultimately, the competitive, physical play is what the Olympics are all about, and with two star studded teams playing in a heated, physical contest, it's easy to see why the fans are so frustrated when clear calls are missed, as they want the talent on the ice to decide the game instead.
