Logan Thompson is about to do the unthinkable and snatch the Olympic starter’s job right out of Jordan Binnington’s hands for tonight's clash against Switzerland.

Binnington just posted a shutout against the Czechs.
But Jon Cooper isn't playing for yesterday.
The rumors from practice in Milan are starting to come out.
Thompson was the first goalie off the ice this morning.
That’s the tell-tale sign of a guy getting the nod.
It’s a gutsy call that has the hockey world buzzing.

Jon Cooper flips the script on the Canadian crease

Thompson is the ultimate underdog story.
He's gone from being undrafted to the Olympic crease.
Binnington was a 3rd rounder, but he’s struggling this year.
An .864 save percentage in 32 starts is brutal for the Blues.
While his Four Nations Faceoff results were inspiring, he's not perfect.
Meanwhile, Thompson is rocking a cool .912 with Washington.
He’s earning every penny of that $5,850,000 cap hit right now.
Canada needs a stopper who is dialed in from the first puck drop.
Switzerland isn't a walk in the park anymore.
They hunt for rebounds and crowd the dirty areas.
If Thompson slams the door today, the conversation is over.
Binnington might be holding a clipboard for the rest of the trip.
Is this a goalie controversy or just smart coaching by Cooper?
