Team Finland reportedly losing faith in head coach: Want Paul Maurice to replace him

The Finnish locker room is starting to fall apart, and the fuse is burning fast.
The big guns are sick of the system. They’re tired of playing safe while their NHL rivals play for keeps.
After a loss to Slovakia in game 1, the team is on its toes, and despite a win against Sweden this morning, they are far from comfortable.
Sebastian Aho is doing his best to play the good soldier. He’s got 57 points in 57 games this season, but he’s being kept on a short leash. The stars aren't getting the minutes they need to actually hunt for goals.
And they’ve had enough.
The Finnish Stars want Paul Maurice to save the Olympics
Word is the 'Florida Mafia' is leading the charge. Anton Lundell and the rest of the Panthers' Finns want the man who just led them to a Cup. They want Paul Maurice.
They don’t want Pennanen’s cautious tactics. They want a guy who lets the dogs eat.
It’s a slap in the face to the Finnish Federation, but the players are looking at the 2026 Gold and realizing they’re steering a sinking ship. Sticking with Pennanen feels like accepting mediocrity.
While Maurice, of course, is not Finnish, the Olympic rules don't have any rules against coaches and general managers being from other nations.
If management doesn't make a move, the morale will continue to fall, and getting a medal may be out of reach.
