The New Jersey Devils oddly edited out Minnesota Wild defenseman Quinn Hughes from a recent Team USA photo that also included both Jack and Luke Hughes, and Matthew and Brady Tkachuk.
One of the biggest trades in the NHL this year was between the Vancouver Canucks and the Minnesota Wild, as the Canucks traded captain and former Norris Trophy winning defenseman Quinn Hughes to the Wild.
One of the most painful trades in Canucks history, it brought an end to the era of Hughes in Vancouver, their best defenseman in franchise history.
Hughes had been linked to multiple Eastern Conference teams, including the New Jersey Devils for the obvious family connection of his brothers Jack and Luke playing for them, along with the Detroit Red Wings, as he went to school locally for the University of Michigan.
But the Devils weren't able to pull off a trade for Quinn to reunite him with his brothers.
Both Jack and Luke will play for Team USA in the Olympics, and the Devils recently edited a photo of Quinn posing with Jack and brothers Matthew and Brady Tkachuk.
Quinn Hughes Was Traded To The Wild In December
The Canucks, the worst team in the Western Conference, traded Hughes to the Minnesota Wild in December for forwards Marco Rossi and Liam Ohgren, defenseman Zeev Buium and a first round pick in the 2026 NHL Entry Draft.
It's been one of the most difficult years in recent memory for the Canucks, who will once again come nowhere close to a playoff spot for the second year in a row.
Just two years ago, they were the top team in the Pacific and advanced to Game 7 of the Western Conference Semifinal against the divisional foe Edmonton Oilers.
