Florida Panthers forward Brad Marchand, who was chosen to play for Canada in the Olympics, has gone viral for his antics during a group picture of the team.
With NHL players going to the Olympics for the first time in over 10 years, there were multiple tough choices for Team Canada management on who to select for their team as they try and win a third straight gold medal in ice hockey.
Florida Panthers forward Brad Marchand, who won his second Stanley Cup last spring after being acquired from the divisional foe Boston Bruins, was chosen as part of the roster.
During a recent team photo, Marchand went viral for his antics in which he appeared to try and look a bit taller:
Fans began chiming in:
In his first full year wearing a Panthers sweater, Marchand has 50 points (25G, 25A) in 46 games. He's been one of the most consistent players for the Panthers, who have been one of the most shorthanded teams in the NHL this year.
He and the Panthers will have to step it up after the Olympic break, because as of now, they're in real danger of missing the playoffs after three straight trips to the Stanley Cup Final.
Brad Marchand Won Another Stanley Cup With The Panthers Last Year
After he couldn't agree on an extension with the Bruins, they traded him in a controversial move to the Panthers that upset scores of Boston fans.
But Marchand got the last laugh, as he not only won another Stanley Cup with the Panthers but then cashed in with a lengthy contract extension to remain with the Panthers despite reportedly considering a move to Canada.
