Nathan MacKinnon is motivated to win gold at the Olympics, and now his comments have revealed just how zeroed in the Avalanche superstar truly is.
Team Canada have arrived at the 2026 Olympic Games, and on the back of a gold at the 2025 Four Nations Face Off tournament, it's safe to say that they're ready to prove once again that they're the best team in the entire world.
With superstars like Connor McDavid, Cale Makar, Sidney Crosby and Nathan MacKinnon leading the way, they enter the tournament as favourites, but with the U.S., Finland and Sweden all chasing them, it's not going to be easy.
Recently, Brady Tkachuk revealed that the USA won't leave the Olympic village so that they can stay locked in, and now, Team Canada appear to be on the same page as the United States.
Nathan MacKinnon's latest comments prove how locked in he and the team are
When asked about Canada's plans overall, Nathan MacKinnon revealed how locked in he is, stating that not only will he not be focused on anything else, but he's not even going to take time to soak in everything in Milan.
I want to enjoy myself, but I'm not here to enjoy myself. I'm going to do everything I can to play well, and hopefully it's enough and hopefully I can contribute. - MacKinnon
We've seen MacKinnon this locked in before, resulting in Colorado taking home the 2023 Stanley Cup, and with a team full of superstars around him, it's safe to say that Canada's chances at the Olympics are just as good.
It won't be easy, but with the team completely motivated and focused on one single goal, this is set to be a historic event for Team Canada, and with the best-on-best finally returning, fans are hyped up for this tournament to begin in the coming days.
