The French Ice Hockey Federation has banned Pierre Crinon after he dropped the gloves against Team Canada's Tom Wilson during yesterday's 10-2 blowout Canada win over Team France.

Yesterday's game between Team Canada and Team France in the Olympics was one of the most lopsided men's ice hockey Olympic games in recent memory, as Canada devastated France 10-2.
But there was a controversial incident during the game that saw Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson fight France's Pierre Crinon, who had just hit Canada's Nathan MacKinnon.
Crinon was given a two minute penalty for the hit on MacKinnon, but Wilson was ejected from the game.
But now, Crinon is paying a steep price for fighting, which goes against Olympic rules; he has been banned for the rest of the Olympics by the French Ice Hockey Federation.

The French Ice Hockey Federation Released A Statement Detailing Crinon's Ban

The French Ice Hockey Federation has released a statement explaining that Crinon's fight was in violation of the "spirit" and "values" of the sport.
Nevertheless, the FFHG intends to remind everyone of the values of every player wearing the French national team jersey, as well as their duty to set an example, particularly during the Olympic Games.

Therefore, Pierre Crinon's provocative behavior upon leaving the ice, even though he had just been ejected from the game for fighting, constitutes a clear violation of the Olympic spirit and also undermines the values of our sport. Consequently, a decision has been made, in full agreement with the French National Olympic and Sports Committee, not to allow his participation in the upcoming Olympic tournament game(s). - Hockey France

Crinon plays for Bruleurs de Loups of the Ligue Magnus, the top French men's ice hockey league.
