After the exciting 2-1 OT win by Team USA over Team Canada to win the gold, Penguins analyst Josh Yohe called out the overtime rules, making it clear he’s not a fan of the 3x3 format.

History was made today in Milan, as Team USA earned a thrilling gold medal win over Team Canada, their first in 46 years.
Jack Hughes scored in overtime, a historic golden goal, winning the game 2-1 to give the USA the highest international honour.
In the Olympics, overtime was the same format as in the regulation season in the sense of it being three players on the ice from both sides.
But Pittsburgh Penguins analyst Josh Yohe made it clear he’s not a fan of the format.
I will repeat what I said before about 3 on 3 in OT. Regardless of who wins, it’s a joke and turns a great hockey game into a gimmick. - Josh Yohe
The NHL has employed a 3x3 format now for the last several years in an effort to cut down on shootouts, which have been reduced significantly.

Jack Hughes Scored The Golden Goal For Team USA To Win The Gold Medal

Jack Hughes became the second Hughes brother to score an overtime GWG for Team USA in the Olympics.
His brother Quinn Hughes, who was traded from the Vancouver Canucks to the Minnesota Wild in a blockbuster deal earlier this year, scored the OT GWG against Team Sweden, advancing his team to the next round.
The Hughes brothers have made a significant impact on their respective NHL clubs and now, for their country, winning the first gold medal for Team USA since 1980.
