Crushing news hit Team Canada fans this morning as we found out Sidney Crosby would not play in the Gold Medal game against Team USA.

Crosby, 38, was injured two games ago against Czechia from a hit by Radko Gudas.
Head coach Jon Cooper has ultimately decided not to touch the lineup at all from last game.
Captain Connor McDavid flanked between fellow first overall picks Macklin Celebrini and Nathan MacKinnon, and Nick Suzuki filling Crosby’s role as second line center.
This is a huge game; one that may have been Sidney Crosby’s last chance at winning something — the writing is on the wall for the Pittsburgh Penguins, and it’s highly unlikely he’s playing at the Olympics at 42.
We will see if Canada can get a gold in #87’s honour; it would only be fair considering everything he has done in the past.
More to come.
