‘There’s a bunch of idiots out there’: Quinn Hughes calls out fans for criticism of his brother
Jack Hughes came up big in the 2026 Gold Medal Game, and afterwards, his brother Quinn came to his defense to call out the many critics of his game.
The 2026 Olympic Games were all about the eventual Gold Medal matchup between the USA and Canada, and at the end of the day, it delivered all of the highs, lows and the drama that make sports great.
However, it was the United States that came out on top, with New Jersey Devils superstar Jack Hughes putting the finishing touches on a gritty victory as he picked up the golden goal to seal it for the USA after somehow hanging on to a 1-1 tie through three periods of action.
Quinn Hughes defends his brother
While his brother Quinn has always been a supporter of Jack, this moment gave him ammunition to go after Jack's critics that have been on him from the moment he arrived in the NHL, and following the gold medal victory, he did just that.
People don't know sh*t. There's a bunch of idiots out there... He's a special guy, a special player.
Despite these critics, Hughes' NHL career has gotten off to a great start, and after posting 4 goals, 7 points and a +8 differential at these Olympic Games, he's proven how good he can be once again.
Whether they end up playing for the same NHL team or not, it's clear that Quinn has his brothers back, and after picking up the most important goal in Team USA Hockey history, he's now going to be forever remembered as a hero for hockey in the United States.
