Why a third team may help the Wild overcome Detroit's asking price for Dylan Larkin

Detroit reportedly wants more than Danila Yurov for Dylan Larkin. Here is where the Wild's offers stand and why a third team could matter.
Minnesota has chased Dylan Larkin harder than any other club, yet the Wild still haven't found the offer that moves the Detroit Red Wings.
The real question is how far Minnesota will bend from its preferred centerpiece, Danila Yurov.
Where the talks stand
Larkin requested a trade in May and was suspended without pay on Oct. 29 after telling Detroit he would not play until it is resolved.
The 30-year-old scored 34 goals and 67 points in 74 games last season, but has two goals and six points through 10 games this year.
Minnesota's offers have reportedly centered on Yurov, a 22-year-old forward drafted 24th overall in 2022, plus multiple first-round picks. Detroit isn't sold.
The Red Wings reportedly want NHL-ready help, including a top-nine forward, along with a first-round pick and two top prospects.
Can a third team break the stalemate?
If Detroit wants proven players over upside, Minnesota may need a partner to reshape its assets.
Philadelphia has reportedly said it would act as a broker, with Yakov Trenin's contract part of that discussion.
Montreal has also been linked to Larkin but was not on his approved list of 10 teams as of October reporting, so the Canadiens could end up more of a Yurov suitor than a Larkin destination.
That is speculation, not a confirmed pivot.
The cost is real for the Wild. Yurov, depth forwards and several firsts would thin out a bottom six that has been a strength, for a player who may not re-sign.
Detroit, meanwhile, holds an unhappy captain whose leverage shrinks the longer he sits out.
Nothing is agreed, and every detail here is reported, not confirmed.
