Dylan Larkin's trade list is creating major issues for the Detroit Red Wings

Shawn Horcoff is running into a wall in the Dylan Larkin trade saga, and the Detroit Red Wings interim general manager has few ways around it.
According to NHL insider Chris Johnston, the ten approved teams do not offer a package strong enough to justify moving the veteran center.
A List That Limits Detroit's Leverage
Larkin asked for a trade over the summer and originally approved only three destinations. That list has since grown to ten clubs, none of them Canadian, yet Horcoff says the teams on it make a deal difficult. Johnston explained the problem plainly.
Johnston reported that Horcoff:
believes that there is better deals to be found from other teams, but Larkin will not expand that list.
That puts Horcoff in a tight spot. Detroit has spoken with teams outside the list that called on their own, but any of those deals would require Larkin to waive his full no-movement clause, and he has not budged.
Reports have suggested the Red Wings want several pieces back, including prospects, a top-nine forward and a first-round pick.
Time Is Not on Anyone's Side
The standoff has already turned ugly. Larkin, 30, was stripped of the captaincy and has been suspended by the club after deciding not to play, costing him pay with every day the situation drags on. Horcoff has said he is prepared to wait for the right return and is not moving his timeline.
Complicating matters, several clubs on the list are reportedly in no rush. Johnston has noted that some teams lack cap space, do not view Larkin as a fit or simply feel the timing is wrong, which leaves Detroit with little competition to drive up the price.
Meanwhile, the Montreal Canadiens and Buffalo Sabres have been linked to interest despite sitting outside the approved group.
For now, pressure rests on both sides. Horcoff needs a return that matches Larkin's value, while Larkin must decide whether a wider list is worth it. Until one shifts, the standoff shows no sign of ending.
