Analyst Leaks Details of Blockbuster Failed Rasmus Andersson Trade This Summer
NHL analyst David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period has released details of what was a failed blockbuster trade that would have sent Rasmus Andersson to the Los Angeles Kings, though he allegedly nixed it.
Coming into the last year of his current deal, Calgary Flames defenseman Rasmus Andersson has found himself the subject of
multiple trade rumours in recent months.
Per a new report from NHL analyst David Pagnotta, Andersson turned down an alleged trade that would have sent him to the Los Angeles Kings, but it wasn't one of his alleged preferred destinations.
David Pagnotta: Re Rasmus Andersson: I think Vegas and Dallas are his two top teams that he'd like to go to; there was a trade in place with LA pending an extension and he didn't wanna go there - Hello Hockey (9/27)
Andersson has a year left on his contract with an AAV (average annual value) of $4,550,000.
Rasmus Andersson has spent his entire NHL career in a Flames sweater
Andersson was taken by the Flames with the 53rd overall pick in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, and he's played his entire career in a Calgary sweater.
A move to the Golden Knights would likely make the most sense for Andersson, as Vegas recently placed veteran defenseman
Alex Pietrangelo on Long Term Injured Reserve; he is not expected to play this year and his career could be in doubt.
The Stars have advanced to the WCF in each of the last 3 years, but have been eliminated in each of the last 2 years by the Edmonton Oilers, the top divisional foe of Andersson and the Flames.
He has 231 points (47G, 184A) in 536 career NHL games.
