NHL land multi-year deal with major headwear company starting in 2024
The NHL have come under fire for their partnership with Fanatics on a 10-year deal, but now there's some good news for fans of New Era.
For the past several years now, the NHL have come under major fire for many decisions, but none more so than their partnership with Fanatics, with their playoff caps drawing particular criticism.
In a piece of fantastic news for fans of NHL apparel, the league have now announced that they have a partnership with New Era Cap, beginning with the 2024/25 NHL season.
"The National Hockey League (NHL) and New Era Cap, LLC, the international sports and lifestyle brand, today announced a multiyear agreement that grants New Era rights to produce and distribute globally headwear and apparel for the League and its 32 teams. The agreement begins with the 2024-25 NHL season."
In the past, New Era Cap have worked on deals with specific teams, but now this will allow them the rights to produce and distribute NHL hats, and given the quality of their work, they will likely be favoured by fans over Fanatics. For those that are against the Fanatics partnership, this changes nothing with other equipment, both on-ice and fan apparel, but at least there's one bit of positivity for fans that don't enjoy the often poor work Fanatics has produced.
