The location and the two teams that will be playing in the 2027 NHL Winter Classic have been revealed, and fans aren't happy about it, especially after playing in a non-traditional location yesterday.

The NHL has taken its fair share of criticism from fans who were not happy about the location of the 2026 Winter Classic, played at loanDepot Park in Miami, home of the MLB's Miami Marlins, between the defending Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers and the New York Rangers.
And now, fans are in an uproar over a recent announcement detailing the location and two teams that will take the ice in next year's Winter Classic. The event will reportedly be held at Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tennessee, and will feature the host Nashville Predators against the visiting Carolina Hurricanes.
In essence, this is the same issue that made the Rangers/Panthers faceoff so underwhelming; the winter classic is about winter; something that's difficult to provide in a southern climate. The NHL simply missed the mark.
The speedway opened in July of 1961, and has hosted multiple events in its over 60 years of history, including NASCAR races, NCAA FBS college football games, and sprint car races.
Right now, the date of the 2027 NHL Winter Classic is listed as January 2.

The Rangers Beat The Panthers In The 2026 NHL Winter Classic

For the first time, the NHL Winter Classic was held in the state of Florida, and featured the defending Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers against the New York Rangers.
It was the Panthers who beat the Rangers in the 2024 Eastern Conference Final on their way to what was the first of two straight Stanley Cups.
But the Rangers got a bit of revenge on the Panthers yesterday, beating them 5-1 at loanDepot Park in Miami in front of an announced crowd of 36,153 fans.
