Team USA had to take part in a meaningless game against Team Sweden on Monday evening after Team Canada clinched its ticket to the Finals.
In that game, a few players were scratched for injury reasons, such as Auston Matthews and
Matthew Tkachuk. As for
Brady Tkachuk, he had to leave in the first period of Monday's game after a dangerous collision with Swedish goaltender
Samuel Ersson.
In breaking news, insider Chris Johnston confirmed that both Matthew Tkachuk and Auston Matthews will be good to go for the Finals against Canada, as they were both on the ice this morning.
Johnston added that both players missed the last game as precautionary measures.
Here's what he wrote on X:
Renaud Lavoie later confirmed that Brady Tkachuk wasn't on the ice for practice:
While Matthews hasn't been able to have a big offensive impact in the tournament, he brings a lot of leadership as the team captain.
The Tkachuks, on the other hand, have been among the top players for Team USA, bringing a lot of physicality and a few points.
Thursday night's rematch between Canada and the United States is set to be nothing short of historic.
The rivalry between both countries
took a massive turn last weekend, setting the table for another great game on Thursday. American fans hope that they'll be able to count on all their players for that crucial matchup.
