Per a new report from NHL analyst Elliotte Friedman on Saturday night, there will be "interesting names" that are expected to hit the NHL waiver wire.

NHL fans had better brace themselves for some interesting news in the words of NHL analyst Elliotte Friedman, who hinted on Saturday night that the waiver wire for Sunday could get interesting.
As Friedman put it, there could be some "interesting" names that hit waivers on Sunday.
The Christmas freeze ends in a couple of hours at midnight tonight, and I think waivers tomorrow could be pretty interesting. I've heard there might be some interesting names on it, we'll see what happens.

The one player who I think is trying to work out something is another Flyer, Egor Zamula, he was sent on waivers earlier this year, he's at $1.7 million for this year and next. - Elliotte Friedman
Any player who is put on waivers will have 24 hours to clear or otherwise be claimed, or will be sent to his team's respective AHL affiliate.

Flyers' Egor Zamula Has Already Been Placed On Waivers Once This Year

Zamula, who was never drafted into the NHL and is currently with the Philadelphia Flyers, has already been put on waivers once this year but went unclaimed.
During the preseason, he was called out for lackluster performance by head coach Rick Tocchet.
He's got to pick it up. Yup. Definitely. There's some good and some bad. We just have to clean that stuff up. t's a little risky. We have to understand when to do it and when not to - just can't give odd-man rushes, things like that. - Rich Tocchet

So far this season, he has an assist in 13 games.
