Cole Hutson stretchered off the ice in chilling scene at the World Juniors
Washington Capitals prospect Cole Hutson was stretchered off the ice during tonight's game against Team Switzerland.
Hutson, selected 43rd overall by the Capitals in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft, has rocketed up rankings and has cemented himself as one of the best prospects in the NHL.
His older brother Lane, on the Montreal Canadiens, won the Calder Trophy last year as the NHL's rookie of the year. He leads NHL defensemen in assists in the 2025 calendar year.
Cole, on Team USA in the World Juniors championship this year took a puck to the head, and had to be stretchered off the ice.
Hutson is reportedly conscious and alert, which is a great sign. Team USA captain Brodie Ziemer was able to communicate with Hutson on the stretcher.
More to come.
