Erik Cernak turned one ugly crease scramble into a blunt verdict on Red Wings hockey in Tampa.
This clip went viral because it looked mean. It also looked true.
Detroit did not just lose a moment. Detroit lost inside ice again.
That is the real issue here. Tampa owned the blue paint before the score caught up.
The Lightning entered chasing the Atlantic lead. The Red Wings entered already done.
That gap showed in every loose puck around Cam Talbot.
You can see Finnie get buried in the traffic, and the whole play screams veteran team against unfinished team.
"Some thrilling hockey being played in Tampa tonight."

Erik Cernak bullied the Detroit Red Wings crease
Fans are right to read that clip as a season summary.
Emmitt Finnie is 20, a 2023 seventh-round pick by Detroit, and this was a rookie learning how brutal net-front April hockey gets.
Cernak's goal mattered, but the sequence around it mattered more.
Tampa played like a club with something to protect. Detroit played like a club still searching for its identity.
That is why this is bigger than a viral laugh.
Nikita Kucherov finished it in overtime, 4-3, and Tampa moved to 50-25-6. Detroit fell to 41-30-10.
The Red Wings have skill. They still do not look hard enough around their own crease.
That is the part Todd McLellan has to fix before next season opens, or clips like this will keep telling the story for him.
