Today, former Toronto Maple Leafs GM Brad Treliving was named as a top candidate for the Nashville Predators position by an insider report.
The Toronto Maple Leafs parted ways with Brad Treliving after their disappointing season ending without a playoff berth.
Since then, the Maple Leafs have been searching for a new General Manager to take over the role.
In the flip side, Treliving himself has been looking for a new role first being hired by Hockey Canada to be their GM for the World Championships.
Now, Treliving is reportedly in the running for a more permanent position to take over as the GM of the Nashville Predators.
Brad Treliving named top candidate to become GM in Nashville
In a new iteration of 32 Thoughts by Elliotte Friedman, the Predators general manager position was a topic of discussion.
According to Friedman, the Preds are looking for a candidate with previous General Manager experience naming Brad Treliving, Kevyn Adams, and Tom Fitzgerald as early favorites to land the role.
Nashville is interested in Tom Fitzgerald. The belief is they will go external instead of an internal promotion. Will look at Kevyn Adams and Brad Treliving, they also want an AGM with experience. - Elliotte Friedman
All three of the candidates mentioned by Friedman were fired this season Fitzgerald by New Jersey, Kevyn Adams by Buffalo, and of course Brad Treliving by Toronto
Nashville is still early in their interview process meaning a hire is still several weeks away but Treliving’s name being in the mix is certainly something to note.
If Treliving does land the Nashville job he will enter a situation entirely different from the Maple Leafs when he arrived with an aging core group that didn’t even come close to making the playoffs.
As the interview process continues to play out we will provide all the latest updates on Treliving’s chances at becoming the General Manager in Nashville.
