The Colorado Avalanche have moved on to the Stanley Cup final for the first time since 2001 after sweeping the Edmonton Oilers in the Western Conference Finals.
There has been plenty of talk of how good this Colorado Avalanche team is by various hockey insiders, but one Avalanche star just got the ultimate praise from the Great One.
Wayne Gretzky who is the greatest player to ever hit the ice knows a thing or two when it comes to the sport, winning everything he could in the league during his career with the Edmonton Oilers, Los Angeles Kings, St Louis Blues, and New York Rangers.
Gretzky would say that:
"Cale Makar has been the best player on the ice every night."
Makar is having a Conn Smythe calibre playoffs, in 14 playoff games Makar has 5 goals and 17 assists with a plus 11 rating.
