Vladimir Tarasenko Reportedly Rejected Offers From Two Top Contenders to Sign in Ottawa
Vladimir Tarasenko chose Ottawa over two top contending teams.
Tarasenko Signs A Short Term Deal
Today, it was announced that Vladimir Tarasenko would be signing with the Ottawa Senators.
The deal is one year and will bring Tarasenko $5 million.
The Rejected Teams
Insider Jeremy Rutherford revealed which teams Tarasenko denied.
The Sharks are not close to contending with finishing near the bottom of the standings but they likely offered more money than the Senators.
The Panthers and Hurricanes are on the opposite end. They faced off in the Eastern Conference Finals where the Panthers bested the Canes in a close sweep.
Choosing Ottawa over those two contenders means one of two things. Either Ottawa offered significantly more money or Tarasenko believes Ottawa can be contenders in their own right.
Nonetheless, he has made his decision and only time will tell if it was the correct one to make.
