Sabres Likely to Acquire Cup-Winning Goaltender
The Buffalo Sabres are in need of a top goaltender and they may be looking at the most recent cup champs to get their guy.
Sabres Linked To Thomspon
The Buffalo Sabres are a young team on the rise. With many young top talents on offense and defense, they are looking to become a powerhouse team for years to come. However, it will be a year or two more till their top goaltending prospect,
Devon Levi, makes the transition to starter.
Due to this, the Sabres are looking for somebody to help just for the next couple of seasons leading to this rumor surfacing.
First off, the Sabres would need to trade for Thompson. The Calgary native makes $766,667 per season which is quite a cheap rate for him considering how well he played last season.
Playing in 37 games last season, Thompson posted a 2.65 GAA and a 0.915 sv%, not shabby for a 26-year-old rookie.
If the Sabres could part with some of their top young assets, they could swing a deal with the Golden Knights which lands them Thompson.
