Referee lets the CROWD make a penalty call - BRUTAL!
We always like to think that our game is the best in the world, and for that to be true, we would need the best officiating in the world. The referee that work in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, and better yet, the finals, are supposed to be the best of what we have in the league, but so far in these playoffs the officiating has been absolutely brutal and last night for game 1 of the finals was no different.
As you can see in the video below, Anthony Cirelli was trying to make a play for the puck and Cale Makar feels his stick near his legs and goes down way too easy.
Makar falls down, wasn't going to be a call, but then the official decided to raise his arm and send Cirelli to the penalty box, 1:33 of 5 on 3 time for Colorado— Lightning Insider (@Erik_Erlendsson) June 16, 2022
No arm went up from the referee when Makar fell, but as soon as the Colorado arena erupts in outrage, booing the referee, his arm goes up and called a penalty on Cirelli.
