Over the weekend a video was going viral of a player from a Russian hockey league violently assaulted a referee by two-hand swinging his stick at him and proceeding to kick him with his skate after.

It was released yesterday that the referee suffered broken ribs, jaw, facial bone.
The league issued a lifetime ban for this player, which is the second time he has received this in his career.
The player's name is Nikolay Rizin, and has now received two life-time bans from hockey leagues, and this second league is making sure something like this never happens again.
The league is filing some paperwork with the Russian Federation to have Rizin banned from all leagues across Russia.
Nikolay Rizin is not considered a top prospect or even a prospect, but someone who loves the game of hockey and was given a second chance with another league after assaulting a referee in his last one, should have thought about his actions a lot more before assaulting another ref.
