Tonight the Toronto Maple Leafs hosted the New York Islanders and Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe announced that the Maple Leafs top prospect in Nick Robertson would once again be a healthy scratch for tonights game.

This is not the first time he has been a healthy scratch, but he has managed to get into 10 games this year where he scored 2 goals and 3 assists in those games. The 21-year-old 2019 second round pick has been a goal scorer at every level he has played at, but for some reason, Keefe doesn't want to give him the opportunity to prove what he can do at the NHL level.

Tonights game will mark the 4th straight game in which Robertson will be a healthy scratch and the media has been letting Keefe have it.

The media believes that other players are more deserving of being scratched from the lineup than Robertson, but obviously Keefe disagrees. Today the media asked him again about why he is making him a healthy scratch, which Keefe got a little upset during his answer:

"I'm not going to answer this every day, It's getting redundant. But what I would say is that there are a lot of benefits to being in the NHL for a young player."

While what he said is absolutely true, practicing with NHL players is definitely better than practicing in the lower leagues, but game time is probably more valuable than practice and without it we will never truly know what Robertson is capable of in the National Hockey League.
