There has been many discussions this season about the play of the Maple Leafs, and most of it has been negative, but the truth is, they've been missing goaltenders, defenceman and their star players have had a slow start and they're still sitting second place in the Atlantic Division.
For awhile many believed that the Maple Leafs were the favourites to land the star defenceman Jacob Chychrun, who on a better team would be a much higher discussed defenceman as one of the best in the league, but spending his whole career on Arizona has kept him out of the spotlight. But we are now learning from NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman that the Leafs have been in contract with the Coyotes over a defenceman, but not Chychrun.
The defenceman that Kyle Dubas is interested in is former 2nd round pick, who played for the Greyhounds in the OHL, Conor TImmins.
