When Kirill Kaprizov came over as a 25 year old rookie, many didn't believe he would be able to produce like he did in the KHL, well, he went on to score 51 points in 55 games.
After that season he wanted to hit it big on his first long-term NHL contract for $9+ million, and people thought he was insane. Well, he got a 5 year deal with an AAV of $9 million and he went on to score 47 goals and 108 points in 81 games, making that deal look like an absolute bargain.
The Wild have not had a great start to the year, going 10-9-2, and lost some major pieces like Kevin Fiala in the offseason. Kirill Kaprizov does not have the same supporting cast as he did last season and it sounds like he is getting a little fed up:
When Kirill came over, he was put with the taxi squad for training camp because he wasn't experienced enough to be with the veterans and apparently he did not appreciate that, and made this comment to the entire team by mistake.
