Shane Wright continues to RIP IT UP scores 4th goal in 3 games - Proving Dave Hakstol wrong! (video)

If anyone has seen the movie "Draft Day" we almost say a similar scenario happen with Shane Wright at the 2022 NHL Draft as what happened in the movie.

After the projected first overall pick (Shane Wright) was passed over with the first pick, he began to slide ... he was passed on at second, then again at third, then before the 4th selection, Gary Bettman announced ''There is a trade involving the Montreal Canadiens'' fans were all thinking they just managed to get Juraj Slafkovsky AND Shane Wright, but the trade was with the New York Islanders for their first round pick, which was flipped to the Chicago Blackhawks for Kirby Dach.

So after all the excitement, the Seattle Kraken were happy to select Wright with their 4th pick.

The star center has received some high praise from scouts, some considering him the next Patrice Bergeron, but the head coach of the Seattle Kraken Dave Hakstol, does not seem to like him very much.

Shane Wright only got into 7 games with the Kraken, he played in a career high 13:45 one game, but averaged below 8 minutes per game in the remaining 6.

It's hard to argue with the coaching decision at the moment because the team is winning, but keeping a prospect as a healthy scratch and not letting him play is not the way to develop a player.

The Kraken sent Wright to the AHL for 14 days and so far he has played in 3 games and has lit the league up scoring 4 goals.

He looks like he is ready for more than just OHL competition, but unfortunately his time in the AHL is quickly expiring and if the Kraken are not going to play him, he will be going back to the OHL.
