Thursday night the Montreal Canadiens first overall pick in this years National Hockey League Entry draft made his debut in a Habs sweater against the Buffalo sabres prospects in a mini tournament. Unfortunately now for Habs fans, it looks like he will not play again in the tournament.
Slafkovsky took a big hit from a Sabres defenceman, which appears to have knocked him out of the tournament.
The New Jersey Devils announcers broke the news that he was out for the remainder of the tournament, would not play another game.
The big hit that Slafkovsky took did not knock him down, but the collision at such a high speed definitely had the potential to cause some damage.
There is also some rumours going around that Slafkovsky is just being held out because the Montreal Canadiens saw enough of what they needed and just want him ready for Main Camp in a few short weeks.
