Blacklisted referee Tim Peel shares embarrassing info on Ref's making 'game managing' calls
Not too long ago, Tim Peel was fired by the National Hockey League for being caught on his microphone stating that he was trying to get a call against the Nashville Predators, even though there ''Wasn't much on the play.''
Which Peel responded:
That's a great question and a very fair question. Make up calls are not a thing. What happens is if we have so many penalties against one team our antennas are up to make sure we do not miss a penalty against the other team.— Tim Peel (@TimCPeel20) September 15, 2022
So make up calls don't exist but you're hyper aware of one team not getting penalized and are more likely to give them a penalty because your antennas are up.
