Reports Indicate Boudreau Nearing A Return To Head Coach Role
Today a major report from Jeff Marek hinted that Bruce Boudreau could be a head coach again soon. According to Marek Boudreau is a finalist to be the head coach of Canada's Spengler Cup team.
Boudreau has spent this season in the OHL with the Niagara IceDogs. He serves as an assistant coach on his son's staff. The Spengler Cup could serve as a springboard to get Boudreau back in NHL head coaching conversations. Either way, fans are excited at the possibility of Boudreau being a head coach again.
Fans Call For Hockey Canada To Hire Boudreau
While Boudreau is just a strong candidate at this point he is the favorite in the eyes of many fans. The Spengler Cup is a respected but not highly watched international tournament. The hiring of Boudreau could make it must-see television.
Boudreau still wants to coach of course and Hockey Canada could use his popularity to gain fan support for the event. The match sounds like a natural fit.
