It was announced today that the team had placed 26-year-old blueliner Jakub Zboril on waivers. Reportedly, the player requested the move himself since he has yet to play a game with the team this year. So far he's spent the year in the AHL where he has 7 assists in 19 games.
It sounds like Zboril is committed to playing in the NHL again as Serravalli suggests that he is not going back to Europe. Since he is already in the AHL, this move is unnecessary. It does show however, that the Bruins are willing to make moves with their player's best interests in mind even if it means them leaving the organization. Zboril does not figure to be part of the Bruins plans at this point. That being said, he has shown he can be an effective bottom-pair defenseman in the limited time he's gotten in the league so far.
