At the 2022 NHL draft, the New York Islanders traded their first round pick to the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for fan favourite young Russian defenceman Alexander Romanov.
Romanov was in the National Hockey League with the Habs for the last 2 seasons, and while he doesn't light up the scoresheet with points, his hard-nose bruising hitting style has definitely made the fans love him and drew the attention of the New York Islanders GM Lou Lamoriello.
Lou is an old-style General Manager, he expects his players to be well dressed, clean shaven and act like professionals.
Well, Romanov has now been a victim of this, and has shaved off the little facial hair he had while heading to camp.
While Romanov is still a young man in the NHL, with a clean shaven face he looks like he is someone who could be preparing for the draft all over again!
