Tonight the Buffalo Sabres were in Florida to take on the Panthers in an important game which allowed to Sabres to take over Florida's spot in the playoffs. Despite the game's outcome already being decided, a Buffalo player attempted a shot at the empty net as time expired, causing a stir.
Although the Sabres were leading 3-1 and the shot was unnecessary, the extra goal is always nice to pad the stats. In response to the shot, Matthew Tkachuk sent a message to the Sabres.
Following the victory celebration, Tkachuk confronted Jeff Skinner, resulting in a heated exchange that even involved Sabres goalie Craig Anderson dropping his gloves.
