Two of the greatest rivalries in hockey has been the Montreal Canadiens and the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Both being original 6 franchises, they've played each other quite a few times over the years, and while it may not be the same as Montreal/Boston, the rivalry is still there.
This past Saturday, the Montreal Canadiens were in Toronto and got absolutely thumped 7-1. The two teams began getting a little aggressive and we saw some fists fly during the game.
One play in particular though was special to see, as a veteran player put the rivalry aside and showed a great moment of sportsmanship to his opponent.
Nick Suzuki was breaking into the zone and veteran defenceman Mark Giordano absolutely throttles him with a hit. Suzuki's stick become stuck in Giordano, and instead of tossing it away as you see most of the time, Giordano skates it over to Suzuki and hands it back to him.
