JVR and Phil Kessel haven't played together for quite a few years now, but were teammates on the Toronto Maple Leafs for three seasons.
After Keith Yandle was healthy scratched the other night, Phil Kessel is now the new leader in consecutive games played.
Toronto Star's Kevin McGran was talking to Vans Riemsdyk about Kessel, his ironman streak and getting the record, which JVR had a funny response:
Phil is often criticized by fans for his out-of-shape figure, and love for hot dogs and listening to a former teammate poke fun is hilarious.
But jokes aside, Kessel has been for a long time one of the best, most consistent players in the NHL, so regardless of his figure, the dude can flat out play!
