After the Maple Leafs were eliminated from the first round of the stanley cup playoffs, again, many wondered what kind of offseason moves were going to be made.
We already know that we will most likely see new goaltending between the pipes next season, and likely one of the ''big 4'' will be moved.
According to NHLInsider Pierre Lebrun, the Toronto Maple Leafs have been connected with long-time NHLer Sam Gagner.
Gagner has been a journeyman as of late, playing on 7 different teams in the last 7 years, after playing the first 7 years of his career with the Edmonton Oilers who drafted him 6th overall back in 2007.
He spent the last season with the Detroit Red Wings and recorded 13 goals and 31 points. Currently he is a UFA and it doesn't sound like he will be returning to the Wings, but could be making his way to Toronto come July 13th.
Tavares and Gagner have been friends since childhood.
