Capitals Defenseman Destroys Vegas Player With Hit, Leads To Fight
Keegan Kolesar has not been shy of dropping the gloves throughout his young NHL career. Last night he showed his willingness to stand up for his teammates once again.
McIlrath Lays Massive Hit, Fights Vegas Forward Kolesar In Response
The fight came late in the first period after Capitals defenseman
Dylan McIlrath made a massive hit on Vegas forward Jonas Røndbjerg. Røndbjerg has just 49 games of NHL experience, including six games this year in which he's scored three points despite 4th line ice-time.
Kolesar did not take kindly to the hit on his teammate and immediately challenged McIlrath to a fight. The Caps defenseman was quick to oblige, and he seemed to defeat Kolesar in the contest pretty handily as a series of right hooks eventually took him down.
This was just McIlrath's 3rd career fight at the NHL level but he seemed to know what he was doing. The defenseman is clearly unafraid of playing physical as his massive hit ignited the altercation.
Dylan McIlrath rocks Rondbjerg then DROPS Kolesar
Let the bodies hit the floor 💥
The Capitals and Knights next play each other on December 2nd. Perhaps we will see players from both teams go at each other again in that one.
