Kane faced hip surgery earlier in the offseason and has not signed a contract despite many interested teams.

«I think we're at the point now where, I mean, could I come back early? Yeah, probably,» Kane said. «But does it make sense? You know, it might be better to take the full time and just make sure I'm at 105-110% instead of just 90-95. But it's a lot better than I was last year.»

Before his injury, Kane was a 100-point player and even when struggling, he still put up 57 points.

Now the focus will shift from Kane's return to which team he will return with. Many teams are interested but right now it seems like the Sabres are the likely destination.
