BREAKING: NHL Arena roof is FALLING APART and breaking off
This has been an exciting offseason for NHL teams and their arenas as it was announced that the Ottawa Senators and Arizona Coyotes will be getting a new home to play in.
One team though seems to be in desperate need of a new home and that team is the Calgary Flames. According to a new report that was released, the Saddledome may be near the end of its time.
According to a report by an Engineering firm Entuitive, the roof of the saddledome is beginning to collapse.
The damage is being caused by constant freezing and thawing and now requires the arena to be inspected by professionals atleast twice a year.
The firm sent a letter to the Calgary Flames owner which stated:
The condition of the concrete around the ring beam is worsening at an accelerated rate.
It looks like pieces are ready to fall:

Been at the Saddledome lately and noticed that protective netting on the outside ring of the roof? That's to prevent chunks of concrete from falling. (Not a structural issue, but also not ideal.) https://t.co/tADGPmCcSA— Ryan Pike (@RyanNPike) September 14, 2022
