Earlier today, head coach Peter Laviolette told reporters that Alex Ovechkin would be a game time decision for tonights game against the New York Islanders after leaving the game Sunday night against the Toronto Maple Leafs with an injury.
Well, it looks like he will not be ready to go tonight which gives fans some reason for worry.
Laviolette gave fans a lot of hope today when he told them that he is a game-time decision instead of just stating he is out, but this is a quote that should worry fans.
When asked if Ovechkin would be ready for Game 1 of playoffs, Laviolette said, «I hope so. I don't know.»
Let's just hope this is the Capitals resting him to ensure he is 100% come playoff time and not Ovechkin seriously injured.
