BREAKING: LA Kings sign Kevin Fiala to a MASSIVE deal
Just over an hour ago it was announced that the Minnesota Wild traded forward Kevin Fiala to the Los Angeles Kings in return for the Kings 2022 first round pick and highly touted prospect from the University of Minnesota defenceman Brock Faber.
According to sources, the #mnwild have traded the rights to pending restricted free agent Kevin Fiala to the #lakings for their 2022 first-round pick and University of Minnesota captain Brock Faber— Michael Russo (@RussoHockey) June 29, 2022
Not longer after the Kings sign Fiala to a massive 7 year, $55.125 million contract extension with an AAV of $7.875 million.
The #LAKings have signed newly-acquired Kevin Fiala to a 7-year, $7.875M AAV contract extension, per @CapFriendly. The deal includes a full NMC in years 2-4, and a limited NTC in years 5-7. #GoKingsGo— NHL News (@PuckReportNHL) June 29, 2022
Fiala is coming off the best season of his career where he put up 33 goals and 85 points in 82 games.
The amazing part about this as well is he hardly played any time on the top line, Fiala was used more as a middle 6 player and despite that he was second on the team in points, only behind Kapril Kaprizov.
Just like the rest of us, Kevin Fiala was wowed by his goal on Wednesday night! pic.twitter.com/e9RASvLl7X— NHL (@NHL) November 12, 2021
