Jason Robertson has become quite the player for the Dallas Stars. After having a great rookie season, scoring 45 points in 51 games, he followed that up by scoring 41 goals and 79 points in 74 games in his second year.

The young star is currently an RFA and is looking to get paid for his scoring output, but the Stars and Robertson's camp seem to be far apart in contract discussions.
No one predicted that this 2017 2nd round pick would have turned into the player that he is, but it's been an absolute blessing for the Dallas Stars. Unfortunately though, without a contract, Jason Robertson will not be attending training camp.
Comparisons to Robertson last season are players like Jordan Kyrou who got an 8 year deal with an AAV of $8,125,000, and Robert Thomas who got a matching contract. We've even seen Tage Thompson of the Buffalo Sabres get an 8 year deal with an AAV of $7,142,857. So the Stars will be looking at a contract that will be atleast starting with an 8.
The Dallas Stars owner this offseason made comments regarding young players looking for big money, which at the time sounded like a direct shot at Robertson.
Let's hope the two parties can get something figured out soon as training camp is crucial for success during the season.
