BREAKING: Connor McDavid Injured In Loss To Jets
The exciting 3-2 contest between the Edmonton Oilers and Winnipeg Jets ended in overtime, with Mark Scheifele winning for the Jets.
With opportunities and strong hits for both sides, it was a frantic game. It was very enjoyable for all who watched.
Injury for McDavid
Connor McDavid collided with Jets star defenseman, John Morrissey, in the third period and it seemed like he was hurt. It was similar his collision with teammate Evander Kane from the previous game, in the way that he was limping immediately afterwards.
After returning to the dressing room, McDavid sat to the bench and stayed there. He tried skating and stretching out his leg and hip a few times, but it was clear that nothing felt quite right.
He was never involved in overtime and had to watch as the Jets overcome a 2-0 deficit to win the game.
Jay Woodcroft's response
Following the game, head coach Jay Woodcroft updated the assembled media.
"I didn't walk back there yet but it looked to be more muscular... just to me as I watched during the play. We'll see, I'll have an update tomorrow."
After playing 20:48, Connor McDavid ended the game with two assists, two hits, one shot, and a plus one rating.
