As per a report from NHL insider Nick Kypreos the players on the Arizona Coyotes are not happy about the new stadium they will be playing in for the next 3 seasons.
There are some real rumblings about the boys not being happy down there. Like really upsetting... Even worse (than they were expecting)
As previously reported on due to tax delinquencies and unpaid rink charges the city of Glendale cut ties with the Coyotes and the at the end of last season.
The Gila River Arena in Glendale had hosted the Coyotes for 18 years and had a seating capacity of about 17,000.
By contrast the Mullett Arena the Coyotes will share with Arizona State University has a capacity of 5,000, less than a 3rd of capacity of the next smallest stadium in the NHL, and less than a 4th of the largest stadium in the NHL.
With the impact on ticket sales this smaller venue will have it will be really shocking if the team is able to sustain their player payroll and other costs of running a team.
