Kevin Weekes reveals cryptic social media post regarding superstar goalie Connor Hellebuyck

The Connor Hellebuyck rumors didn't die when Buffalo walked away. They just changed direction.
For days, the loudest noise around the Winnipeg Jets goaltender pointed to the Sabres.
That deal reportedly included Buffalo's fourth overall pick, a roster player, and a prospect, but collapsed once Winnipeg refused to send the Sabres' own eighth pick back in return.
Elliotte Friedman had described the talks as close, with the belief that Hellebuyck was ready to waive his no-move clause to make it happen.
That waiver detail matters more now than it did last week, especially after Kevin Weekes posted something cryptic on social media today.
A vague insider tweet means little on its own, and that second post can't be independently verified as coming from a credentialed source.
But the underlying mechanics around Hellebuyck are real regardless of who's hinting at what.
Carolina is the offer still sitting on the table
The Hurricanes reportedly have a package built around a first-round pick and defenseman Alexander Nikishin already in front of Winnipeg.
Unlike Buffalo's offer, nothing has been reported as dead here. Hellebuyck is believed willing to waive for Carolina too, which removes the one variable that sank the Sabres talks before compensation ever became the issue.
Why Winnipeg's calculus hasn't actually changed
The Jets were never under pressure to move their goaltender. They're not suddenly motivated because one deal fell through.
If Carolina's offer doesn't clear Winnipeg's price, this stays parked, no matter how many cryptic posts circulate.
The signal worth tracking isn't an emoji. It's whether Carolina's specific package improves.
