Elliotte Friedman says the Connor Hellebuyck sweepstakes have grown more complicated since the summer, with several previously available trade pieces no longer on the table as the Winnipeg Jets try to find a resolution before training camp.

Speaking on NHL Tonight, Friedman was asked directly where the situation stands after Hellebuyck publicly confirmed his trade request last week.
The insider explained that going public typically signals a desire to get a deal done quickly, but the roster of potential trade partners looks different than it did in June.
I've heard that one of the big challenges here is, some of the things that were available at the beginning of the summer or at the draft are no longer available.

What's Changed Since the Draft

Friedman pointed to Florida as an example, noting the assets that once made a deal appealing are no longer in the Panthers' possession.
Buffalo, long considered a frontrunner given Hellebuyck's reported willingness to waive his no-movement clause for the Sabres, has also seen its path complicated, with the fourth overall pick no longer part of the equation.
Friedman added that no-trade protections that changed around July 1 have further reshaped the landscape.

Suitors Still in the Mix

Despite the shifting board, Friedman noted the Jets are not short on interested teams. Buffalo and New Jersey remain in the conversation, though the Devils' involvement could hinge on their own Quinn Hughes situation.
Carolina, San Jose, Utah, and Vegas were also mentioned as clubs monitoring the goaltender's availability heading into camp.
With Hellebuyck's request now public, pressure is mounting on Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff to find a fit before puck drop.
