Washington Capitals First Round Pick Involved in Trade Rumours

Per a report from NHL analyst Frank Seravalli, the Washington Capitals are considering a trade of former 1st round pick Hendrix Lapierre.
The Washington Capitals took forward Hendrix Lapierre with the 22nd pick in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft, and soon signed him to a 3 year entry level contract.
But are they already thinking of parting ways with him?

He has 31 points (9G, 22A) in 86 career NHL games.
Hendrix Lapierre: Skilled Puck Mover
Per his scouting report from Elite Prospects, Lapierre's puck moving skills are his best asset.
His pucks skills, and the ability to wield them with the same effectiveness at speed as he does at a standstill, make him a dazzling puck-carrier. Lapierre can effortlessly weave his way through an entire team on a moment's notice, and he did that seemingly once a game during his tear at the Hlinka.
In 2023 and 2024, he helped lead the Hershey Bears, the Capitals' AHL affiliate, to consecutive Calder Cup championships. He was also named the MVP of the 2024 Calder Cup Playoffs.
He had 32 points (7G, 25A) in 32 games with the Bears last year.
